MIDI file does not play due to sound card driver not installed.
Cause:
The sound card driver is not installed.
Solution:
Reinstall the sound card driver using 'Add New Hardware'.
1) Click the 'Start' button to display the 'Start' menu.
2) Select 'Settings' and select 'Control Panel'. (The 'Control Panel' dialog box appears.)
3) Double-click the 'Add New Hardware' icon. (The 'Add New Hardware Wizard' appears.)

4) Click 'Next'.
5) Select 'Yes [Recommended]' under the question 'Do you want Windows to search for your new hardware?'.
6) Click 'Next' to start the new hardware search.
NOTE: It takes several minutes for the new hardware search.
7) Click 'Finish'. (The 'System Settings Change' dialog box appears.)
8) Click 'Yes' to restart the computer.
